General information about the event
The purpose of the gathering is to accelerate activities for the development of NAHV, the Northern Adriatic Hydrogen Valley.
Industrial partners, universities and decision makers from participating countries: Slovenia, Croatia and Italy, Authonomous Region FVG, will explore further development opportunities and already envisaged projects. There will be an opportunity for other potentially interested participants who are interested in this type of cooperation:
- to raise awareness of the potential of hydrogen technologies for decarbonizing the economy in the countries of Central and Eastern Europe, with an emphasis on the Northern Adriatic region
- to share knowledge and experience on setting up hydrogen valleys with local authorities,
- companies and research institutes to help progress in creating a “cross-border hydrogen valley of the Northern Adriatic”
- promotion of hydrogen technologies by some of the leading global technology companies
- keynote speeches on hydrogen valleys will be given by the Clean Hydrogen Partnership, which is the co-organizer of the event and the coordinators/developers of the hydrogen valley in the north of the Netherlands on the island of Mallorca (Spain) and the Orkney Islands
- promotion to other potentially interested partners who would be interested in cooperation
- promotion of opportunities for scientific and research institutions from the region that have already been actively involved in development projects
- presentation of the opportunities of hydrogen technologies for cities and rural environments, for a safe and reliable supply of energy from renewable energy sources
- meeting of industrial partners from the region who have already decided to participate in building the hydrogen ecosystem
Cooperation has already been confirmed by Hydrogen Europe representatives, and we expect confirmation from Hydrogen Research in the next few days – these are the two organizations that also support the hydrogen valley of the Northern Adriatic.
On the occasion of the European Year of Youth, we will dedicate the content to young people from the region of three countries – the cooperation of Slovenian, Croatian and Italian universities is desirable.
Objectives:
- identification/creation of ideas and partnerships for new projects that will support the energy transition in the region
- promotion of jobs of the future to the professions related to hydrogen technologies.

A brief presentation of the content of the planned event
Nineteen participating partners from industry and representatives of three universities from three neighboring countries will meet with the aim of deepening cooperation in the development of the hydrogen ecosystem of the Northern Adriatic region.
The meeting is also intended to further support these efforts, for which a wider social consensus is needed.
Since the project brings great development opportunities and, according to CHP JU’s calculations, many new jobs can be created in the region as a result of this development, cooperation between all stakeholders is extremely important.
